The two purposes of modern military history miniature are detailed investigation of historical realities along with being original means of expressing artistic idea.

There had been a time until which historical data about uniform and military manuals of the past armies were disembodied, discrepant, and insufficient. This set of knowledge was supplemented and enlarged due to long and painstaking work of hundreds of restorers who spent many hours in dusty libraries, closed archives, and forgotten museum vaults. Today the work of restorers allows us to admire magnificent historical movies and feel the more exact spirit of the past.

Mankind has been familiar with tin soldiers for very long time. One can remember terra-cotta troops who guarded Chinese emperor Qin Shi Huang. Though those troops had not been made of tin, they obviously followed all the rules of the genre. In the past tin soldiers were entrusted to rehearse real military operations. They educated the youngsters and represented perfect visual aid. However, despite all their advantages, they were just toys. Recently historical miniature has got out of toy box to settle in safe boxes of collectors. Modern soldiers are tailor-made in full accordance with their historical originals to become valuable thing for connoisseurs and collectors.

This project is open and non-commercial. We have made an effort to bring together experts and fans of historical miniature from various parts of the world.
